About Me

Hello! My name is Emme Young. I am a student at Rice University studying Sport Analytics and Statistics with a passion for analyzing data to enhance decision-making and strategy.

As a collaborative problem-solver with a strong background in statistical analysis, I’m committed to applying statistics to a wide variety of fields.

My passion for data analytics stems from my experience playing competitive softball for 12 years, as I was surrounded by different statistics used to measure player performance. As I grew up, I began paying close attention to my own batting and fielding averages while also strategizing by using information from other teams.

Outside of the classroom, I am an avid supporter of women’s collegiate sports, especially softball and gymnastics, and enjoy biking, playing sports, and playing instruments. I play the clarinet, bass clarinet, and saxophone, and am currently teaching myself how to play the ukulele.
